KUKRI

Guitarist / Producer

KUKRI’s sound is a mesmeric cauldron of ethereal expression, weaving together the distinct threads of their heritage and diverse influences rooted in ambient jazz. Named after a devastating breed of snake from Southeast Asia, they reflect a duality of beauty and danger, fluidity and agency. Drawing inspiration from their origin, as well as a deep affinity to water, KUKRI conjures songs that evoke a sense of movement—like the flow of or a river or the sinuous curves of a serpent.KUKRI approaches writing and producing music as a chance to meditate on their roots and blood after they were separated and brought to the states at an early age. They view their craft as a healing practice to develop authentic sounds that reflects their unique lived experience, as well as calling in the visions and vibrations of the qtbipoc community in honoring the resilience of the global majority. They are in collaboration with multiple Seattle bands, ranging from Nada Rosa's psychedelic surf rock, to Day Soul Exquisite's neo-soul jazz, and more recently Fem du lit's witchy electro-soul.In the year of the snake, they are currently working on writing, recording, and producing their first album, set to release early 2026 with La fem records.
